Sessional Lecturer - HE Theatre, Acting
Fixed term contract until July 2021
We are looking to recruit a dynamic, creative Acting lecturer to teach physical theatre, vocal technique and movement with students at levels 4,5 and 6 through the delivery of innovative and inspirational teaching, learning and assessment leading to positive achievement outcomes and progression to employment or higher level study. Experience in directing and supervising research projects in a higher education setting is essential.
You will undertake responsibilities for teaching and assessment, pastoral support and assisting course management, being responsible for the application of awarding/validating body regulations and procedures and upholding academic standards.
You will also be involved in all aspects of the student journey, including student recruitment, tutorial and pastoral support, course induction, curriculum planning, teaching, learning and assessment, feedback to students, monitoring of student progress, management of student records, student achievement, and associated course and quality related administration.
You will require an academic qualification at Level 6 or above and a recognised teaching qualification (or willingness to gain one). You also require experience working within a Higher Education environment and knowledge of curriculum planning and development to meet the learning needs of all students within a possibly diverse cohort. Good written and verbal communication skills and good IT skills are also essential.
