Job Description

37 hours per week, Term Time Only (36 weeks worked), fixed term until July 2022

Based at the Central Campus, Brighton

We are seeking to appoint a General Assistant Technician in the Hospitality & Catering area to support teaching and learning and the smooth, safe, day to day running of the restaurant and catering areas by providing general organisational support for lecturing staff and students and supporting the supervision of practical activities within own range of capabilities.

This will include a wide range of tasks including, monitoring stock levels, supporting the sourcing and ordering of materials/consumables/ equipment as required, the preparation of teaching resources/materials/consumables /equipment for practical sessions, demonstrations, and open access sessions and supporting the effective management of both consumable and physical resources including the safe movement and storage of resources, and keeping all specialist work areas, storage facilities, equipment, and machinery outstandingly clean and tidy in line with Health and Safety (H &S) requirements,

You should have worked in a hospitality and/or catering workplace and have a relevant specialist subject/industry qualification at Level 2. You should also hold Basic Food Hygiene and first aid certificates - or have a willingness to gain shortly after appointment.
